What is the code that aligns text/images to the left?

this code:

works, but i cant get text next to it.

i want the image to be on the left, and text on the right of it.

if it helps, this is for my myspace about me.

below answer only works with the center tag, not the left tag.

Things are normally pre-aligned to the left anyway though, are you making a div layout?
