Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

what do you think of politicians using myspace as a means to get support and votes from the younger generation?

do you consider it a form of propaganda?

is it really the actual politicians updating the myspace accounts or is it the people who are supposed to boost their public image?

what do you think about politicians using this friend/networking site as a way to spread their ideas to the younger generation of voters?

Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

I think it's a forum like any other. The more young people are exposed to real issues, the better informed they will be as voters. That's a good thing, not a bad thing.

Isn't all advertising a form of propaganda?

And yes, they are trying to reach the younger voter. Remember MTV played a pivotal role in getting the youth vote which resulted in Clinton in office.

Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

Of course they are!

Did you read today's Wall Street Journal?

It talks about the candidates MySpace pages. Hillary's website featured a 'friend' who likes HBO's "Pornucopia" and wants a beautiful woman in touch with her "dirty side." Hillary is using MySpace to attract younger voters and her site was featuring this guy, La Mott Jackson.

That's taking technology a bit far, in my opinion.

It's part of the George Soros propaganda machine.

Sure they are using the power of the Internets to get those votes...

Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

Well it's free publicity for them, and people are addicted to it, it makes sense to me. I'd use it too.

Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

Tasty question. I think it is a genius idea to reach out and get more ideas in front of kids where they spend most of thier free time. Before myspace, no one who didnt pay much attention to politics would have never heard of Kucinich because the 'conservative media' doesnt allow it, even in a 'liberal' town paper like Eugene, Oregon's

Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

I think its' a good idea-there are many people who probably would not have paid any attention to the campaigns otherwise.

If we get a lot more youth voting, it can make for an very interesting race.

Are politicians abusing myspace for younger votes?

No, myspace is going to hold the Primary. It's not propaganda, its a good way to educate people about whos running - think about how many people go on that site and think about how many people can vote that don't? And they are the real politicians. This is just another way that Americans can actually take part in their country while being educated about who they're voting for not just marking a name on a ballot - but marking what they stand for.
